Not the best episode IMO, lacked a certain edge and/or direction. Stop with the Hadley thing already. How can Casey look after 2 young children properly if he's 24 on and 48 off - doesn't work with or without Dawson or Casey's sister's help. Kelly and Otis' cousin? Puhleeeez!!! And why were Mouch, Cruz and Otis even competing for the 3rd room - Shay and Severide haven't actually advertised it - they need that room for when they have their baby! Doubt Otis wants it now anyway if it means he's going to hear Kelly banging away at his cousin.....

Otis is a wasted character, IMO...just a clown for comic relief, really...and he's not funny, just annoying. Casey was named legal guardian of the Dardens' children before Andy died, therefore he's got an obligation to fulfill. I certainly hope that Casey's only storyline for Season 2 will not just be about these kids...he needs a love interest who is NOT Dawson.
I'm finding the interactions between Boden and McLeod very interesting. I think there's a lot of potential there for some explosive dynamics between these two.

I just re-watched Defcon 1. I think there are a couple of continuity flaws. In the water vehicle rescue scene, when Severide goes "off rope" and that is determined by Clark, I am almost positive SOP would have been for Capp to immediately follow him into the water. That didn't happen. Secondly, in the break room scene where Boden announces no more unscheduled leaves and then subsequently chews out Otis for the cinnamon challenge, that is official fire business and I doubt he would have done that with Isabella in the room - regardless of what degree Isabella is or isn't on the payroll as Mouch's campaign manager - she's still a civilian. However, like everyone else I do applaud the Boden vs McLeod clashes in this episode.
