I just rewatched "A Coffin that Small" and I think we have a continuity flaw. With the kitchen out of sorts, Casey volunteers to go pick up the take out food in the scene where he confonts the drug dealers about hiding the drugs in the hydrants. But he takes his own car? Is this allowed? I thought a firefighter, unless dismissed for personal time, had to ride a firefighting vehicle in the event of a response. Picking up lunch and confronting drug dealers about their wrongs - doesn't seem like an acceptable reason to take your own car. Any firefighters care to weigh in on this?

wrightso, thanks for opening this discussion topic Really good question. I'm not a firefighter, only PA in a real estate company but when I have to drive somewhere during while I'm at work I have to drive with a company car. And I know that firefighters in Germany are only allowed to use firefighting vehicles.

Not to forget the official description:
Tragedy strikes when a rescue attempt at a tenement building proves unsuccessful, leaving the men and women of firehouse 51 affected by the loss of the victim. Severide's decision to put Mills on the fast track to move from Truck to Squad doesn't sit well with some of the others and tension mounts between Severide and Casey over Heather Darden. Shay and Dawson are forced to deal with a junkie's crazy behavior while on a call and Shay considers a different way to have a family. Meanwhile, the team draws the ire of local drug dealers who threaten the peace and safety of the neighborhood and firehouse.

I have to say, sizing things up in their entirety, I do believe 'A Coffin that Small' was the best episode of the season. That final scene in the snowfall where they all salute the hearse after Hermann suggests it. That was powerful friends.
