Dawson has delusions if she thinks her and Casey could ever be a couple. He wants to be a family man, she's career oriented. Not sure where they are headed, but it's as friends only. That much is obvious! She deserves passion, definately! He's gorgeous, clearly and deserves a family. How can he obtain what he wants? Now that we are in Season 2, does anyone want to talk about it? L I'll be gald to talk about it since you and I seem to be in the minority for not wanting a Dawson/Casey hook-up. He needs someone outside the firehouse who can give him what he wants. Dawson and Casey as a couple are just wrong for each other. Great friends and colleagues, but that's as far as it should go. My fear is that Casey's character will turn into an asexual, boring do-gooder and not be given any juicy story lines. I don't want him to turn into a man-whore like Severide, but he needs a little spice in his life...and love.

they are best friends, surely the writers and producers dont want that to be ruined! she's a strong character as is he. They need to remain friends (with the underlying sexual tension) Good Lord if they ever got it together, it would certainly be EXPLOSIVE! ;D

I absolutely detest the Casey/Dawson hook-up. It makes Dawson an even bigger tramp and makes Casey look like he's abandoned his ideals. They have ZERO chemistry as a couple. You can see how Jesse Spencer is struggling with it....or at least I can. They've taken a kick-ass character and made her into a slutty, self-centered know-it-all and that's a shame. They've also taken Casey's character and erased everything that made him level-headed and a leader. I will stand and cheer the day the writers finally end their relationship. What a total waste of time and talent.

Dawson and Casey are perfect for each other! They're there for each other, they love each other, and isn't that all that matters? Yes, they have their ups and downs as a couple, but so does every couple. Casey doesn't need a family right this minute, and the writers know that. So there's no rush on that part. But it's been clear since episode one that Casey and Dawson are going to end up together, no matter what. Right now, Dawson is very focused on being a firefighter, and her adoration for Casey has been lost a little because of her determination. But next episode, I think we're going to see that change. She's finally going to realize she loves Casey, and we're going to see that explosive, hot couple that we saw in the early stages of their relationship.
They aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and when Casey does get his family, it's going to be with Dawson. The writers and most Chicago Fire fans love them together, so it's very unlikely that we're going to see either of them with somebody else.

They aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and when Casey does get his family, it's going to be with Dawson. The writers and most Chicago Fire fans love them together, so it's very unlikely that we're going to see either of them with somebody else. As I said, I am in the minority but it is my opinion that people who "ship" this couple see what they want to see. Casey had much more chemistry with Hallie. It was quite obvious in their scenes together. I am also of the opinion that Casey would have more fire and spark with a lamp post than he does with Dawson. To me, it's much like watching a gazelle playing with a monkey. They just don't match. Last I knew, it wasn't against the law to have a different opinion than the masses. There is more than one glaring inconsistency....1) Casey and Hallie broke up not once, but twice, over Hallie's refusal to start a family because she was in residence at Lakeshore and couldn't take the time. Now we're supposed to believe he's abandoned his desire for a family while Dawson decides she wants to be a firefighter? That's a huge character shift....and 2) since when does Casey like anyone who dresses up in a tight black dress and piles on red lipstick? Or a woman who has slept with a policeman and one of the other fire fighters from 51? Again, another character shift. As for the writers, right now they are in love with the match-up but you are kidding yourself if you think they'll last forever as a couple "no matter what". Perhaps they will, but I think it has just as much of a chance at ending....and since CF was renewed for a 3rd season, no one can possibly know what the future holds for anyone on the show. I expect Dawson and Casey will go through the motions of a relationship and all indications are that Casey will propose to her...but that means nothing in an episodic TV drama.
